Alie's Valentine's Day Heart Wreath

One day after walking home from the park, Alie stopped and was just staring at this wreath on someone's door. It looked like thin wood hearts forming a circle.  I told her "Come on baby, Momma can make you one."  So, I made her one.

I used foam in red and purple. I traced a heart on a piece of paper and then used the heart as a stencil for the foam. I cut out the hearts from the foam and then I glued the foam hearts onto a circle I cut from cardboard.
While hot gluing the hearts to the cardboard I made a "boo-boo" I pulled the glue off after it tried but as you can see, it messed up my heart.
SO, I made a bunch of little ribbon rosettes and glued them onto the hearts. SUCCESSFULLY covering up my boo-boo!

I did all this while Alie napped too. When she woke up and saw it she stared at it just like the other wreath. I asked her what she thought and she said "Oh iss-oh cute!!" The sweetest compliment ever!!!

Valentine's Day Mantel

Putting together this Valentine's Day Mantel was so much fun.  My hubby took me to the Goodwill Saturday morning to see what we could find for my mantel.  We found the sweet ceramic red hearts tower, the two red hearts piece, and those precious little teddy bears holding the red love heart!  What a score, huh?  I made both frames.  The first frame, I spray painted Ballet Pink.  Then on a piece of pink scrap paper, I made a heart from glue and some glitter I won from the P K Glitz Blog.
This frame, I also spray painted Ballet Pink.  I made these rosettes from some of Alie's old baby blankets and glued them onto the frame and added one of my favorite pictures of my own sweet Valentine!
I then tied some twine on to my little mason jar candles and created a heart tag from the same scrap paper.  I tied a bow of tulle around the white vase of my flower.
I made this "Be Mine" garland from the same scrap paper and then wrote "Be Mine" in glue and dusted the glue with the P K Glitz  glitter.
Remember my Paper Rosette Hearts? I hung them on the wall just above the mantel.

And....VIOLA!  My Super Sweet Valentine's Day Mantel!

I'm so happy with it.  I think it's very sweet and simple...just like Love is and ought to be.  Alice really loves it!  I'm so happy my hubby bought me this faux mantel.  Thank you sweet wonderful hubby!!  It really is so much fun to decorate!  What do you think?   I hope you love it as much as I do!

Beth with The Stories of A to Z is having a fun Valentines Mantel Link Party.  I'm linking up there and YOU should too!

Paper Rosette Valentine Hearts

Do you remember my Valentines Day Wreath Tutorial?  After "mastering" the art of tissue paper rosettes, I decided to make a few more for our home.  I made these three full hearts.  Again with left over Christmas tissue paper, left over Halloween tulle and some empty cereal boxes.  I am putting together my Valentines Day mantel right now.  I have hung these on the wall just above the mantel.  Let me tell you, I LOVE IT!!  I am so happy with how it looks.  Once everything is together and in place on the mantel I promise to show everyone.  Maybe sometime next week?  Until then enjoy my cute little hearts!

Aren't they sweet?  When Alie saw them up on the wall this morning she said "Ohhh! So pretty, Mama"

If you would like to the tutorial on how to make these you can find that HERE!
