Paper Rose Wreath Tutorial

Ain't she a beauty!!?  I have wanted to make a paper rose wreath for a long time.  I'm so happy I finally got around to it and I'm SO HAPPY with how great it looks.  

My paper rose wreath finished off my Valentine's Day mantel perfectly! 

I am the guest blogger at DecorChick today!!  AND I'm sharing the tutorial for THIS pretty paper rose wreath over there!!  So, if you'd love to know how to make one be sure to stop by Decor Chick today!  My tutorial includes the Silhouette version of this wreath.  Yep, I used my Silhouette for this one! 

Before you head over to DecorChick I wanted to share a few "behind the scenes" photos of the making of this wreath. 

After the Silhouette cut my spirals for this wreath my daughter held this up like this and started to dance and giggle. Makes for a fun decoration piece huh? 

Once you've cut out your spirals the left over paper makes for a great cat bed!

The Silhouette cutting a bazillion spirals for you is FANTASTIC! But, you still have to spin and glue those bazillion spirals.  You spend ALL DAY spinning and gluing and then you end up in bed....with a hot glue gun!!!

I spinned and glued into the wee hours of the morning.  This was my view for the night....

That's my husband playing MW3, probably very happy that I wasn't bugging him about watching TV.  I was busy burning my fingers in bed!!  I did talk to him though, the whole time.  Whether he listened or not is yet to be determined!

Valentine's Day Yarn Wreath

This wreath was SO EASY to put together!  I wound red year around my foam wreath.  Cut out hearts from baby pink and sandstone felt.  Each set of hearts is just a bit smaller then the one before.  I made a single felt rose from both colors of felt to match.  See, really easy!  And isn't she so cute!?!

Love My Valentine's Mantel

I'm really happy with my mantel this year.  NOT that I didn't love my mantel last year!!  But this year...I have a Silhouette (thanks again, Emily!!)!  I made the Love My Valentine's bunting banner with the Silhouette.

Now, I have wanted to make a paper flower wreath like the famous Stephanie Lynn Paper Rose Wreath for over year now.  I FINALLY did it!!  With help from my Silhouette!  I never got around to cutting a zillion spirals from paper.  The Silhouette did it for me 6 at a time!!

Isn't she amazing!!  I am in love!!  She looks great on the shutters, too.  I was going to take down the heart bunting but I kinda like it there with the wreath.

I added my Valentine ribbon candles which I made with Kassi of Truly Lovely's tutorial.  The flowers are from my husband.  He gave them too me last week after he came back from a business trip.  It was so sweet.  And even sweeter that Alice kept looking at me with my flowers and saying "You're getting married?"  I told her "I am married, I married your daddy".  And she would giggle!!  Oh, those cute lil love bears are from the GW in AZ.  The Bless This Family Birds my husband picked out at Michael's one night while I stood and stared at the beading aisle for an hour.

Red ceramic hearts are also from the GW in AZ.  The pretty wire candle holder I found 75% off at Bed Bath and Beyond a few weeks back.  It's really pretty with a lit candle inside.  I love that it says Laugh and Dance at the bottom.  Makes me think of Alice.

I almost left my mantel like this, thinking it didn't need a wreath.

Ya know, she plays on her kiddie laptop and says "I'm working on my blog" It's TOO CUTE!!!
